LUDLOW-John Masiuk, 89, died September 6, 2010 surrounded by his family at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke. Born in Springfield to the late John and Mary (Dulevich) Masiuk, he served in the United States Army during WW II in Italy and North Africa. Mr. Masiuk worked as a barber in the Springfield area for many years, including John’s Barber Shop in Ludlow and he had retired as a machinist from Smith & Wesson. He enjoyed listening and dancing to Polish music and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Steven Masiuk, and his sister, Anastasia Supiniski. He leaves his loving family: his wife, Stella (Shevchuk) Masiuk of Ludlow; daughters: Stephanie Villines (Bobby) of Soda Springs, ID, Mary Ann Jorge of Ludlow and Christine Silva ( Michael) of Ludlow; and his grandchildren: Tricia, Michael and Jesse Villines, Jonathan and Jennifer Jorge and Nick and Heather Silva. The funeral for Mr. Masiuk will be held at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield at 7:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 followed by a funeral mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Springfield at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow, MA.
