John Wayne King

Springfield-Peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2009, John W. King, 82, went home to glory at Baystate Medical Center.  John’s beloved parents Mary Williams and Jim King and brothers Edward King and William Price pre-deceased him. John, a retired 31 year Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, was an avid golfer who won many golf tournaments throughout the east coast.  John is survived by his daughter Portland Wilson of Baltimore, MD, his brothers Milton Williams (Sandra) of New York, NY, Dr. Robert Williams of Las Vegas, NV, his beloved friend Lelia Wilson, nieces, nephews and friends. In honor and respect of John’s wishes there will be a private committal service with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel A.M.E Church, 27 Pendleton Ave. Springfield, MA 01109 or to the charity closest to your heart
