John Robert Henry

John R. Henry of East Longmeadow, MA, died peacefully on April 2, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. He was a Captain for the Springfield Fire Department until he retired in 1979. He also owned J & J Siding and installed storm windows and vinyl siding for many years and was involved with his son’s automotive business. He always supported his family, enjoyed watching sports, reading the newspaper, and seeking out the best dining deals around. The secret to his long life was doing what he wanted, eating what he wanted, and seeking medical advice from his outdated medical journal. John was predeceased by his parents, his siblings, and his long-time partner Lenora Regula. He leaves behind his five children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Donations may be made in John’s name to Baystate Health & Hospice, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Services will be private.
