John V. Cassamasse

SPRINGFIELD-John V. Cassamasse, 60, died on August 21, 2016. He was born in Springfield, MA on November 19, 1955 to Angelo and Eleanor (Keane) Cassamasse. John was predeceased by his wife, Christine (Shearer) Cassamasse, who passed away June 18, 2011. At Longmeadow High School, John excelled at football and made All Western Mass in 1973-1974. He owned a trucking company in Houston, TX for several years. He retired from the City of Chicopee Parks and Recreation Department. Known as a kind, caring person, he will be sadly missed by his stepfather, Earl Walrath of Longmeadow; his brothers, Michael Cassamasse (Suzanne) of Springfield and Vincent Cassamasse (Cheryl) of Fort Pierce, FL and their families; and his sister, Angela Cassamasse of Longmeadow. A Remembrance Service will be held on August 29, 2016 at 11 AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill St., Springfield, MA. A visiting hour will precede the service from 10-11 AM.
