Joel N. Gorneault

Springfield – Joel N. Gorneault, 74, died January 3, 2010 at Heritage Hall West in Agawam, MA.  Born October 15, 1935 in Saint Agatha, Maine to Lea (Theriault) and Baptiste Gorneault, he had lived in Springfield since 1977 and was a communicant of Holy Name Church.  For many years he worked as a chef.  He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Kathleen Rossignol Gorneault and their children: sons Joseph Gorneault and his fiancée Betsy Grasso of Feeding Hills, MA, and Daniel Gorneault and his wife Joyce of Wesley Chapel, FL; and daughters Albertine Gorneault of Springfield, MA, Ramona Gorneault and her fiancée Andrew Dvorchak of Chicopee MA, Lucina Tran of Chicopee, MA, and Amanda Truong and her husband Quang of Worcester, MA.  He also leaves his brother Donat Gorneault and his wife Ruth of Portland, ME, his sister Lucina Collins and her husband Richard of Bristol, CT, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by twin daughters and two brothers.  The funeral service for Mr. Gorneault will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA at 5:15 p.m.  Visitation will precede the service from 2:00 – 5:15 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Baystate Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01199.  For directions and to sign the online guest book, visit www.nefcc.net .
