JoAnne J. Walrath, 83, passed away on August 8, 2020 in Springfield, MA. Born in Ford City, PA on March 6, 1937 to the late William and Wilda (Young) Febinger, she was a nurse’s aide for many years at the Loomis House and Marian Center. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Holyoke. Her hobbies included bingo, arts and crafts, traveling and spending time with her family.
She leaves her beloved family: Wallace and Bonnie Walrath of OK, Kenneth and Sherry Walrath of Rochdale, MA, JoAnne Goulet and Michael of Springfield, MA, Nancy Blais of FL, her sister Beatrice Smith of PA, 7 grandchildren: Amanda Hoose, Jason and Everett Walrath, James Goulet, Melissa, Tracie and Timothy Swart, 10 great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Jessi and Harli Walrath, Madison and Evan Goulet, Savannah and Brooklyn Hoose, Elijah Rivera, James Dennison and Elliot Lucas and her former husband Earl Walrath of Plainfield. She was predeceased by 4 brothers: Edward, Thomas, William and Lewis Febinger.
A walk-through visitation will be held from 12-1PM on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA followed by a service at 1PM with limited attendance. Masks and social distancing are required.
