SPRINGFIELD - Jimmie Moore, Sr., 62, passed away on May 10, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Pontotoc, Mississippi to Lilly May Clay and James Moore Sr., he was United States Air Force veteran and worked at Stanley Works and Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cheryl (Wilson) Moore; his children: Melba, Talisha, Theresa, Jimmy, and Cheryl Moore and two adopted children Alisha and Alvin Wilson; 4 sisters and 6 brothers: Mary, James, Andrew, Tina, John, Christine, Mary-Helen, Charlie, Willie, Larry Moore; 9 grandchildren: JayShawn, Kameron, Keinen, Zhariya, Zayden, Maiya, Amerah, Naj’lah, and Zaydah; 42 nieces and nephews, 65 great nieces and great nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be May 19, 2014 at 12 noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with visitation from 11 AM until the time of service. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
