Jerry R. Dearing

Jerry R. Dearing, 69, passed away on October 16, 2020.
He was born in Great Barrington, MA on October 31, 1950, a son of the late Clark Dearing and Laura (Brease) Lanoue.
Jerry was an extremely hard worker, cared a lot for people, always seeking to help them. During his younger years, he worked at the New Boston Nursing Home in Sandisfield. In his later years, he walked back and forth through East Otis and Otis always stopping to help the townspeople. He dug many a septic tank and trench for the residents of the two towns. Jerry was a great outdoorsman and loved horses that he enjoyed taking care of and farming.
He was always very close to his father and spent many hours at the grave, where he will now rest, just “speaking with him for comfort and direction.”
He is loved and will be missed by many.
He leaves his sisters: Bambi, Louise, Connie, Beverly, Pauline and Diane; his brother, Robert and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was predeceased by his brother Clark and his sister Gloria.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11:00AM in Soul Cemetery on Pike Road, East Otis, MA 01029.
His cousin, Reverend Lin McGee will officiate. Masks and social distancing are required.
