Jeanette E. Combs-Jones

SPRINGFIELD – Jeanette E. Combs-Jones, 69, passed away on July 29, 2014 at home. Born in Norfolk, VA on April 1, 1945 to Dempsey M. Combs Sr. and the late Doris (Hall) Prather, Jeanette was an educator in the Springfield community in which she touched many children’s lives. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Daughter of Isis, Heroines of Jericho and the American Business Women’s Association.

Besides her mother, she is predeceased by her former husband, Victor M. Jones and her brother Michael D. Prather. Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Kimberlee Combs and Tiffany Jones both of Baltimore, MD; siblings Karen Combs of Washington DC, Dempsey Melvin Combs Jr., Salahuddeen Abdul Kareem, and Jacqueline E. Combs; grandchildren George Johnson IV, Kymia Johnson, Jaden Combs, Maliyah Johnson, and Carlisle Ray Jr and a great grandchild George Johnson V all of Maryland.

Visitation will be Saturday August 9, 2014 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM with a service at 2:00PM at the New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield MA. Visit www.nefcc.net
