Jannie Maebell Grant

SPRINGFIELD-Jannie Maebell Grant, 78, died September 22, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Born in Garnett, SC on October 3, 1932 to Harry and Susie (Brantley) Bennett, she attended Beaufort College there and was a member of St. Mark AME Church in Garnett until moving to Springfield in 1982. Predeceased by her parents, husband, Rufus, and son, James, she leaves her son, Richard Grant; daughters: Barbara Kinlaw, Daisy Brown, Eloise Atkins, Patricia and Juleat Grant and Felicia Floyd; brothers: Oregon and James Bennett; sister, Rosa Goldwire; 27 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, all of Springfield, MA. The funeral will be on September 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ with a wake from 10-11:00 AM and burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
