PALMER – Janice M. Staeb, 78, died December 25, 2015. Born in Chicopee to the late Leroy and Margaret (Belisle) Heissenbuttle, she had worked as a highly skilled typist for the Springfield Republican, an ad agency and as a medical transcriptionist.
A 42-year member of the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, she sponsored many women, assisting them in gaining sobriety and helping to build hope, light and love. She had wonderful compassion and believed in others when they didn’t believe in themselves. She loved lobster, animals and ghost stories and especially her family.
Predeceased by her twin Janet Furlani, she leaves her son Kurt Staeb and wife Shari-Lynn of Palmer, MA; a daughter Lori Bergeron of Putnam, CT; a niece Lisa Cameron of Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren Nicholas, Sadie and Olivia Rose as well as her faithful friend Maryann Houle.
