Janet F. Barney

EAST LONGMEADOW- Janet F. Barney, 92, died May 29, 2013 in the comfort of her family. Born in West Springfield, MA on August 29, 1920 to the late George A. and Eva (Lessard) Bresett, she worked at Forbes and Wallace and Lane Bryant locally. She was an avid Red Sox fan who enjoyed a good mystery novel and the mastery of her garden. Predeceased by the love of her life and her husband of 64 years, Robert H. Barney, she is survived by her son, Robert H. Barney, Jr. and wife Catherine of Elmira, NY, daughter, Claudia F. Paulette and husband Paul of East Longmeadow, MA, grandchildren: Megan Paulette, Kelly Stewart and husband Jack, Daniel Barney, David Barney and wife Natasha; and her great-grandchild, Hayley Barney. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 1:15 PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill St., Springfield, MA with a service at 2:00 PM, proceeding to the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery for burial.
