SPRINGFIELD - Jane H. Judd, 83, died at home Friday, January 2, 2015. She was born Jane Chapin Hand on October 7, 1931 to Lewis Hand and Olive Chapin Hand.
She leaves behind her son, Peter Judd, and his wife, Myra, her daughter, Lori Cohen, and her husband, Brian Cohen, her son David Judd, and his wife, Elaine, her brother, George Hand, and his wife, Suzie, her sister-in-law, Jo Ann, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers, and many fellow members of the Unitarian Universalist Society, all of whom she cared very deeply about. Jane was predeceased by her husband, Charles D. Judd, her daughters, Stephanie Judd and Kristen Judd, and her brother Bill Hand.
Jane received her Bachelor’s Degree from Westfield State College. She worked as an art teacher in the Springfield Public School System for all of her career. She loved going to the Springfield Symphony, and all of the live theater in the area.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Society 245 Porter Lake Drive, Springfield, MA 01106 on January 10, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Society of Springfield. The family has entrusted New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street Springfield, MA with the arrangements. Visit www.nefcc.net
