Jan F. Silansky
November 18, 1944 — April 25, 2020
Jan Francis Silansky, known affectionately by family and friends as “Mugsy” passed away on April 25, 2020 at the age of 75.
Son of the late John Silansky and Betsy (Barkman) Silansky, he is survived by his wife Linda (Goodell) Silansky, his children: Stephen Silansky and his spouse Jessica of Westfield, MA, Jaime Yas and her spouse Adam of San Francisco, CA, Paige Silansky of Conway, MA, and Lauren Friese of Windsor Locks, CT. He also leaves four grandchildren: Angelina Silansky, Jaime Silansky, Zoe Yas, and Bowie Poulin.
He was self-employed as a manufacturer’s representative.
Mugs led with his heart in every room he occupied; in the warmth of every memory he shared and in the Tom Brady-like delivery of every joke he told. He sat proud and aglow in the company of the family he loved so completely. He cherished every new and familiar relationship the day provided - from colleagues to cashiers; from neighbors on Colony Drive to neighbors next in line at his beloved Starbucks. Mugs made everyone feel as though they had a new and faithful friend, one they had always known and one they could turn to in times of need. He was passionate and full of the kind of love, laughter and life that drew you to the table; the kind that ignited a conversation with brilliant candlelit character until two in the morning; one you could see from the street in the falling snow of a New England Christmas. One that those who loved him will forever see.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Silansky and his brother, Joel Silansky.
