SPRINGFIELD - James A. Westbrook, 71, a lifelong Springfield area resident passed away November 23, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center.
He was born in Springfield on February 3, 1945, a son of Sarah (Coon) Gintowt of Westfield and the late Robert Westbrook, Sr. He attended local schools and was a self-employed painter and roofer and most recently a courier for NEPA.
Jim was a friend to everyone he met and was very well liked. He also enjoyed a good game of golf and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
In addition to his mother (91 years of age), he is survived by two daughters, Tammy Talbot (Scott) of Southampton and Debra Westbrook-Perusse (Daniel) of Sunderland. He also leaves his brother Danny and his fiancé Marge Huba of Palmer, two sisters, Linda Flathers and her partner Gary Butts of Springfield and Beverly Szydlo (Paul) of Holyoke, and his partner of the last twenty years Dorothy Gloster. Jim will be remembered by two grandchildren, Amanda and Christopher Talbot. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
