SPRINGFIELD-James Robert Lane, 64, died March 28, 2013 in Springfield, MA. Born on September 4, 1948 in Maxton, NC, to Robert and Kattie (McRae) Lane, he worked for many years at Milton Bradley now Hasbro in East Longmeadow, MA.
Mr. Lane was a loving and caring father who raised four children. He loved music, especially the blues, and children, earning him the name of “the neighborhood granddad." He will be remembered as a hardworking man who could fix anything you put in front of him.
Predeceased by a brother, Anthony McRae, he leaves his longtime friend, Ruthie McLeod of Springfield, MA whom he loved for always being there by his side for 38 years, parents, Robert and Kattie (McRae) Lane of NC, sons: Joey McLeod (Cynthia) of VA and Christopher McLeod of Springfield, MA; daughters: Melissa McLeod and Tanisha McLeod of Springfield, MA; brothers: Jerome Lane (Elizabeth), Bobby Lane (Angela), Sammy Lane (Cheryl), and Gary Malloy; sisters: Marjorie Lane, Abbie Lane, Telisa McRae, Fannie Lane and Diane Lane all of NC; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The wake will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 11:00AM until 12Noon with a Funeral Service at 12NOON at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill St., Springfield, MA. For full details visit www.nefcc.net
