SPRINGFIELD-Mr. Horace T. Morris, age 81 of Trinidad and Tobago, W.I. has departed this life in Springfield on Monday, August 27th, 2012. A long-time resident of Springfield, he was born March 22, 1931 in Trinidad and Tobago, W. I., the first son of the late Archibald and Lestina Morris. He was predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Enid (Hugh Hinds), Rita Morris, Errol (Ethel) and Selwyn. Survivors include beloved wife Agnes C. R. (Paul) Morris; and sons Trevor A. Morris and Derek J. Morris; and daughter Debra A. (Terry Jackson); and sisters Erline (Melvin Ignacio) and Dorothy (Carlton Contaste); and granddaughters Danielle K. Morris and Daijah J. Morris; grandsons, Tayden S. Jackson and Aaron T. Bryant, several nieces and nephews as well as dear friends. Horace immigrated to the U.S. in 1968 for employment as a newspaper printer. He was employed in various companies with the last and most significant with Dow Jones, Inc. of Chicopee, printing the Wall Street Journal, retiring from there in the early 90s. Horace will be well remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, loyalty and thoughtfulness to everyone who was fortunate to cross his path. He enjoyed his Calypso music, sports, travel and everything Trinidad. Horace will be dearly missed but never forgotten. He lived a good successful life as a great husband, father, friend and co-worker. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 1, 2012 for visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill St., Springfield, MA with a service at 12 Noon.
