Henrietta P. Maello

Wilbraham – Henrietta P. “Penny” (Kunz) Maello, 93, wife of the late Frank P. Maello, Sr. who predeceased her on February 29, 2012, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 in a local nursing home.

She was born in Amherst, NY on April 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Frank and June (Shrive) Kunz.

She was a member of the West Springfield Council on Aging and was previously employed as a sewer at United Fabricants, clerk at Jones Variety Store, and cashier at Stop & Shop.

She is survived by her son Frank P. Maello, Jr. and his wife Donna of Ludlow, her sister June Powers of Springfield, two grandchildren, Amy Beth Forkey (Jason) and Alyson Maello, four great grandchildren, Jagger, Jamison, Luckas, and Logan.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Henry, Frank, and Donald, and two sisters, Frances Canders and Lee Smead.

Frank was born on December 9, 1924, son of the late Raffaele and Cecelia (Venese) Maello.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.

Visitation for Frank and Henrietta will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 1 – 2pm at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA followed by committal services with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in their names may be directed to Beacon Hospice, the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
