We are celebrating the homecoming of Gregory Doran Brown, 66, who passed away on November 1, 2022.
A long time Springfield, MA resident, he was born in Manchester Township, New Jersey on December 26, 1955, a son of the late Sgt. Lewis and Mary (Key) Brown. He served for many years in the U S Air Force as an air traffic controller and retired after twenty-five years from the Springfield Water & Sewer Commission.
He enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren, reading, bowling and fishing. Gregory was also a lover of music and known as a barbeque “pit master” as well as the reigning Dominoes and Spades champion.
He is survived by the “love of his life”, his wife Stephanie Murchison-Brown, his son Kelvin Brown of Commerce, GA, four daughters: Charlene Johnson (Ronald) of Joppa, MD, Yvonne Brown of Commerce, GA, Jewel Murchison-Waters of Springfield, MA and Remey Murchison-Brown of Baton Rouge, LA. In addition, he leaves to cherish his memories his sister Tawanda Brown and sister-in-law Christa Brown, both of Springfield, MA, seventeen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Sadly, he was predeceased by his brother Jeffery Brown.
The wake will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 4PM-6PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. Those unable to attend in person are invited to participate in livestreaming by clicking on the link.

Family and friends are requested to meet at 2PM on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, to process to the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery for committal services with military honors.
