Gloria Mateski, 95, departed this earth on February 5, 2021. A lifelong Springfield, MA resident, she was born on July 31, 1925, the daughter of the late Earnst and Myrtle (Caney) Muzzy.
She loved to sing and dance and had a quick wit.
She leaves two sons, John R. Muzzy (Maggie), of West Springfield, MA and Michael Mateski of Springfield, MA, with whom she lived and also leaves nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of forty-four years, Benjamin Mateski, and her son Kenneth Muzzy and also predeceased by two brothers: Bob and Earnst Muzzy and three sisters: Lucielle Ginman, Muiral Canning, and Phyllis McGuire. She will be missed by all.
New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held in the spring. All family and friends will be notified of the date and time. Please visit www.nefcc.net
