SPRINGFIELD- Gladys M. Turner, 76, a Springfield resident, died on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Redstone Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in East Longmeadow. She was born in Boston, MA on January 14, 1934 to Samuel and Martha (Tatro) Kierstead. She was an Emergency Resource Parent for many years. She was the devoted mother of seven children who will remember her fondly for her crocheting; baking of breads, especially cinnamon rolls; cooking; picking blueberries, strawberries and even apples; her enjoyment in tag sales; country drives every weekend; the casinos; and her delight in eating hot fudge sundaes. She was predeceased by her parents and her former husband, Andrew Dvorchak, Sr. She leaves her sons: Daniel (Beth), of Hadley, Robert (Susan) of Sarasota, FL, David (Tina) of Southwick, Matthew of Springfield, Mark (Tammy) of Chicopee, Andrew Dvorchak Jr. (Mona) of Chicopee, and her daughter, Terri Turner of Feeding Hills; sisters Dorothy Lamoine of Chicopee, Rita Rollins of Springfield, and Ella Downs of Greenfield; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Holy Name Church, 323 Dickinson Street in Springfield.
