Springfield- Gill A. (Surprenant) Ashey,77, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 17, 1941, a daughter of the late Arthur Surprenant and Evelyn (Heeley) Dorian. She was employed for many years as a switchboard operator for Goodwill Industries.
She leaves her husband Donald G. Ashey Sr. of Springfield, her daughters, Cheryl Fountain of Friendswood, Texas, Debra King of Fitchburg, MA and Karen Fountain of Paris, Texas; step-sons: Tony Hagood, John Ashey and Christopher Bettro; step-daughters: Donna Lee, Mary Ayala, Jane Ashey and Pearl Ashey; many grand and step-grandchildren; brother William Surprenant of Springfield; three sisters: Gayle Morehouse of Springfield, Rosemary Hutchinson of Canada and Eve Wright of Florida. She was predeceased by her son Donald Ashey Jr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at New England Funeral Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA beginning at 10AM with a service at 11AM. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Please visit www.nefcc.net
