SPRINGFIELD – Gilbert J. Lamore, 82, died July 11, 2017 at home surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born in Wallagrass, ME May 1, 1935, the son of the late Alvin “Herbie” and Desneige (Nadeau) Lamore.
Gil grew up in Charlemont, MA and settled in Springfield after serving his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a certified master mechanic working in the automotive industry for over fifty-five years.
Besides his parents, Gilbert was pre-deceased by a brother, Gilmond and a sister, Dorothy. He leaves behind his wife, Darcy, daughters: Cindy, Tina, and Eleanor; brothers: John, Chester (Diane), William, Raymond (Pam) and James (Linda); sisters: Angeline, Peg, Beatrice and Pat and sister-in-law Nancy as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At Gil’s request, burial was in the family plot in Charlemont.
