Springfield – George L. Beaudet, 74, a life-long Springfield, MA resident, passed away on September 19, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 5, 1948, a son of the late Marcel and Emelia (Tousignant) Beaudet and graduated from Trade High School. He served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He had worked for the former Valentine’s Auto Body, Harold Kent Ford and Cook Chrysler Plymouth, where he was the body shop manager. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and everything to do with muscle cars.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia (Wilkie) Beaudet of Springfield, brother Victor Beaudet (Margaret) of Ludlow, sister Shirley Paulin (Michael) of Westfield, brothers-in-law Robert Wilkie (Lois) of MS and John Wilkie of Feeding Hills, niece Doris Beaudet of Springfield and three nephews: Christopher Wilkie of NC, John E. Wilkie of Feeding Hills and Ryan Wilkie of ID. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Lawrence and Alfred Beaudet.
Funeral services for George will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, beginning with a visitation from 9-10AM at New England Funeral and Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, followed by a burial with Military Honors in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Memorial contributions may be made to Rays of Hope and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
