Obituary

Frederick J. Parker passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 92. He was born in Springfield, MA on March 30, 1934, to the late John and Ruth (Chappel) Parker. He had two brothers and a sister. Frederick was a lifelong Springfield resident, after living briefly in Longmeadow, MA.
After high school, Frederick enlisted in the US Navy and served for many years. After his military service he worked for 40 years as a commercial truck driver for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and Coronado Trucking, among others. Frederick loved sports and was an enthusiastic Boston Red Sox and Patriots Fan. He coached youth baseball for the Elks. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing. His golf buddies knew him as "Boomer." More than anything he loved spending time with his family and never missed a holiday or overlooked a birthday.
In addition to his parents, Frederick was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years Mary Magedelene (Philippino); daughter Debra Parker; brothers John Parker, Jr. and Francis Parker. His memory will be cherished by his surviving son Michael and his wife Kimberly Gustafson Parker of Springfield, sister Barbara Mahoney of Sampsonville, SC, along with 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
