Freddie L. White

Freddie L. White, 90, passed away at home surrounded by his beloved family on Thursday, May 4, 2023. He was retired as a crane operator from the former Springfield Foundry, was a great mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. He enjoyed going to Friendly’s, Dunkin Donuts, Bess Eaton, Whole Donut and Blunt Park. When he wasn’t at his favorite donut shop, he enjoyed listening to the blues, especially BB King. He was also a member of New Creation Discipleship Ministries. He is survived by his belove wife of forty-one years, Claudette (Green) White, his children: Robert Brumfield (Ouida) of Summit, MS, Brenda Johnson of Waxahachie, TX, Linda Johnson of Austell, GA, and Robin Bonner of Springfield, MA and Thyra Green of Springfield, MA, eleven grandchildren: Destiny Washington, Travis Washington, Sheldon Hanson, Justin White, Asia Rodriguez, Joneé Ruffin, Thaddeus Ruffin, Robin Smith, Andre Brumfield, Derrick Brumfield and Robert Patrick and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters: Gail White and Jeanine Newton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 10:30AM – 11:30AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:30AM officiated by Bishop Charles W. Pink. Inurnment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery at 2PM. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
