Frank Boyd

March 3, 1919 — May 14, 2016

AGAWAM - Mr. Frank Boyd, formerly of 129 Suffolk Street, passed away on Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at the Baystate Medical Center. He was born on March 3rd, 1919 in Jefferson County, GA to the late Roger and Julia Boyd.

Mr. Boyd was a resident of Springfield, MA for over 50 years. He was a retired industrial employee at the Chapman Valve Manufacturing Co., which was located in Indian Orchard, MA. In addition to his work as an Industrial employee, Mr. Boyd was well known for his gift in landscape design, and provided service in various parts of Western Massachusetts.  He was an outdoors man who loved fishing and gardening. He loved baseball, and his favorite team was the New York Yankees. He was a stern and straightforward man, whose heart and soul was full of love and laughter. Most importantly, he loved his family with all of his heart, and lived out his family first principle until his dying day. He was a father to the fatherless; a friend to the friendless; and his home was a shelter to those in need of refuge.

Mr. Boyd was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Lee Boyd; five brothers Sam Boyd, Albert Boyd, Roger Boyd, Joe Boyd, and Sip Boyd; four sisters Lula Boyd Adams, Mary Boyd Wynn, Maggie Boyd Walker, and Mae Alice Boyd; eight sons Frank Boyd Jr., Otis Boyd, Richard Boyd, Robert Boyd, Steven Boyd, Scott Boyd, and Ricky Boyd; and two daughters Donna Boyd and Debora Boyd.

He leaves to mourn his passing five sons Gary Boyd, Michael Boyd, Eric W. Boyd, Darrick Boyd, and Erick Boyd; four daughters Debra May Thomas, Barbara Boyd, Shawnda Boyd-Grimes, and Rochelle Boyd; two special nieces Bessie Clark and Earline V. Taylor; a large host of grandchildren, family, and friends. His life and legacy of love will forever burn within our hearts as a precious memory.

Funeral services will be at Revival Time Evangelical Center on June 1, 2016 at 11 AM with viewing beginning at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA is entrusted with the arrangements. www.nefcc.net
