SPRINGFIELD-Frances M. Healy died peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2013 in a local nursing home. Born October 11, 1925 in Springfield to parents James J. and Isabella Healy, she lived in Springfield all her life. Frances graduated from Commerce High School. She worked in the Springfield school system as a teachers' aide, as a nurses' aide at the former Belchertown State Hospital and at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, and cared privately for many local families. She was predeceased by brothers William, Thomas, and John Knox and sisters Isabel Blanchard, Anne Falconer, and Betty Sampson, and by a close and beloved sister-in-law, Pauline Knox Quill. Frances also leaves many nieces and nephews with whom she lovingly kept in touch and who will sadly miss her phone calls and family news updates. She will be remembered with love and affection. There will be no calling hours. Graveside service and burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield MA.
