Eunice I. Henry

CHICOPEE-Eunice I. Henry, 77, died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Born on March 2, 1935 in Ware, MA to the late Thomas Alonzo and Irene E. (Freak) Austin, she had worked for many years at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a BA in education and American International College with an M.Ed. She enjoyed reading, sewing and painting. She was a longtime resident of Belchertown, MA until she and her husband, Walter J. Henry, Sr. moved to Chicopee 23 years ago. Predeceased by her parents, two brothers: Charles and Thomas Austin; and a sister, Joyce Gay, she leaves her husband, Walter J. Henry, Sr.; four sons: Walter J. Henry, Jr. and his wife, Jacquiline of Belchertown, John F. Henry of Greenfield, Michael T. Henry of Belchertown, and Christopher G. Henry and his wife, Tammy of Jupiter, FL; two daughters: Anne-Marie LaValle and her husband, James of Belchertown, and Patricia J. Henry of Duluth, GA; her sister, Marilyn Nascimento and her husband, John of Palmer; ten grandchildren: James, Zachary, Kayla, ,Katie, Nathan, Matthew, Justin and Kristin Henry and Jared and Morgan LaValle; and three great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Belchertown VFW from 2:00-4:00 PM. All are welcome.
