SPRINGFIELD - Drena Sanders Barnett, 68, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior March 2, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born November 7, 1947 in Charlotte, NC to David and Clyde Sanders, she attended West Charlotte High School in Charlotte.
Predeceased by her father David Sanders, she leaves her husband Michael Barnett; mother Clyde Sanders; sister Olivia Sanders; brothers Charles Campbell Sanders (Pearlie), Howard Sanders and Bernard Sanders; aunts Carrie Easton and Ruby Jordan; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
From her birth to her passing Drena held strong in her faith and continually shared that with everyone around her. She will always be remembered as a bright and shining light by all those who had the privilege to know her. She will be forever missed until we meet again.
The funeral is on March 14, 2016 at 11 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 10 AM. Philippians 4:7- “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.
