Emaline Diel of Holyoke died on March 14, 2020 at the age of 96.
Born in Boston, MA she was the daughter of Rose Pincus and Harry Brill-Blaundin, both part of the vaudeville theater circuit.
Emaline was raised in Chicago and spent most of her adult life in New York. She was a professional singer throughout WWII and later graduated from Hofstra University with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She was employed in various capacities for the State of New York; prior to retirement working as a probation officer for Nassau County. Emaline was also active with Planned Parenthood and did a great deal of volunteer work as a docent for several museums and historical estates in NY. She was a world traveler and liked nothing more than to plan her next trip.
She is survived by her daughter Jodie Pine of Southampton, MA; her son Geoffrey Finkels of Randolf, VT; and her grandson Joshua Pine of San Francisco, CA.
There will be no public funeral service.
