SPRINGFIELD – Elwin C. Taylor, 94, a lifetime resident of Indian Orchard, passed away June 17, 2015 at Governor’s Center. A graduate of Springfield Technical High School, Class of 1938, he worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. Mr. Taylor proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, was a Mason and a Boy Scout Leader. His varied interests included photography, gardening, stamp collecting, woodworking, roller skating, ballroom dancing and the joy of memories made at the family cottage in New Hampshire. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Dudley) Taylor in January, 2014, he is survived by his son Dana C. Taylor and his wife Christine of East Longmeadow, MA, daughters Doreen E. Sullivan and her husband Andrew of Westfield and Deborah G. Schempp and her husband Kenneth of Springfield, grandchildren Damon Taylor, Alicia Taylor, Sean Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan and Tanya Sullivan as well as 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held June 29, 2015 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM with a 1:45 PM service. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA. Visit
