Springfield -Elaine Rizzo Johns, 74, passed away August 23, 2016 in East Longmeadow, MA after a long struggle with COPD.
She was the daughter of Catherine and Salvatore Rizzo of Wallingford, CT. She attended Holy Trinity School, graduated from Lyman Hall HS in 1959 and from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Yonkers, NY. She worked all her life as a nurse including about 30 years in the Rocky Mountain States.
Her husband, Jack, predeceased her in the 1990s.
She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Benjamin of Bedford, MA; a niece, Anne Sheehan of Concord, NH and a nephew, John Benjamin of Chicago, IL.
Burial will be in the family plot in St. John’s Cemetery in Wallingford, CT.
