Eileen J. (Amato) Plante, 84, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, surrounded by her family, who were honored to be able to care for her. She was born in Springfield on December 16, 1941, to Louis and Lucy (Botta) Amato. A family woman at heart, Eileen most often showed her love in the food she put on the table for Sunday dinner. She was immensely proud of the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she raised. She enjoyed almost nothing more than a full house. Her loving husband of 63 years, James Joseph Plante Sr., preceded her in July of 2025. She is survived by her children Christine Hager and her husband James, Cheryl Cudnik and her husband Ron, and James Jr. and his wife Barbara. She cherished her grandchildren, Kait and their wife Ali, Brittney, Ryan and his wife Karin, Peter and his wife Molly, Tyler, Jessica and her partner, Merric, and James “Doc”. She had five great-grandchildren, Jordan, CC, Charlotte, Nora, and Lincoln. In her memory, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. A service will be held at a later date.
