Eileen M. (McDonald) Maloney, passed away on March 21, 2024. She was born in Westfield, MA on April 28, 1942, a daughter of the late James and Ann McDonald. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms and two Masters Degrees; one from Western New England College and the other from the University of Massachusetts. She was formerly an elementary school teacher in the Westfield public schools and a product development manager at Milton Bradley. She was a trailblazer and was the first female manager at the former Digital in Westfield in the 1980’s in an all-male environment. Eileen was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Society in Springfield, was politically active and enjoyed working with immigrants. “Helping others was her motto”. She enjoyed weaving, needlework, gardening and liked to travel. She was the wife of the late Joseph Maloney who predeceased her on April 2, 2023. She is survived by her sons: Timothy Maloney (Terri) of Pittsfield, MA and Sean Maloney of Wallingford, CT and will be sadly missed by her granddaughter whom she adored, Margaret “Molly” Maloney. Visitation and service for Eileen and Joseph will be held on May 6, 2024 at 11AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA.
