Springfield – Eileen T. (Sullivan) Bridges, 95, wife of the late Thomas Bridges and a lifelong Springfield resident, passed away at home on Monday, July 8, 2019.
Eileen was born on January 10, 1924, a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Crohan) Sullivan.
She graduated from the High School of Commerce and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Parish. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking and animals.
She is survived by her daughter Maryann Hale of Springfield. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Bridges, her daughter, Kathy Bridges; her brothers: Daniel and Terrence Sullivan, her sister, Catherine Clark and granddaughter Merrilee Hale, who passed away in November of 2017.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10AM followed by a funeral service at 11AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA.
Burial will take place in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Dakin Animal Shelter. Please visit www.nefcc.net
