Edwin S. Boardway, 84, of Agawam passed away on Thursday, February 20th 2020.
Born on January 8th, 1936 in Holyoke, MA, he was the son of the late Edwin Stephen Boardway and Katherine M. Boardway (nee Sullivan).
Edwin graduated from Springfield Classical High School and attended Wilbraham Academy. Edwin enjoyed his teen years playing football as the “Mad Bomber”. After graduating, Edwin worked at Springfield Beef as a delivery man and subsequently worked at Hamilton Standard as a dispatcher. Edwin enjoyed photography, light gardening, golf, bowling, playing cards and always playing the numbers. He enjoyed many memories at the Crest Room in West Springfield, Franconia Golf Course, Midtown Bowling, and the former Red Lion in Springfield.
Edwin is survived by his former spouse June Robbins, nee Tomassetti; his son Kyle Stephen Boardway and daughter-in-law Terri Ann; his granddaughters Adrianna, Sophia, and Gianina; his daughter Kelly Boardway and son-in-law Victor A. Lake; his brother Sean Boardway; and his nieces Carol and Kathy.
A service to honor Edwin's life will be held at the Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam on February 27th, 2020 at 11:00AM in the Memorial Chapel. A luncheon will follow at 12:00PM in the Fireplace Room. Following the luncheon there will be a ceremony at the Scattering Garden at Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Bear Mountain in West Springfield and Beacon Hospice for their comfort and care.
