Springfield - Edward Humphries 86, passed away at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 14,1932 in Tewksbury Ma. He was a ward of the state. He attended schools in Springfield and Westfield. He graduated from Westfield High. His first job was in management, then he was a partner in a warehouse. He decided to buy his own 18 wheeler and go cross country trucking. He traveled 48 states, all accident free. He received an award from the trucking association. He returned to the city to work for Yellow Freight untill his retirement. He was a 26 year member of Teamsters Local 404. Ed was an avid Bruins, Pats and Red Sox fan.
Ed will be deeply missed by his wife of 29 years, Linda. He leaves his 2 daughters, Jeri and Judi; his step-daughters Rebeca Denault and Tiffany Sasur; his precious granddaughter Faith Denault whom he shared many memorable times; his son-in-law Dominick Denault whom he shared a special bond; his brother Larry and sister Claire and many other family members and dear friends.
There will be no calling hours. A private ceremony will be held at the convenience of the family.
