SPRINGFIELD-Edgars A. Andersons, 63, a friend of Bill W. died October 14, 2013 at his home after a courageous 7 year battle with cancer. Born on November 18, 1949 in Munich, Germany to the late Andrejs and Emma Andersons, he had worked for many years at Digital in Westfield, MA and as a Business Analyst at St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Andersons leaves his wife, Georgette L. (Proulx) Andersons of Springfield, MA, daughter, Rebecca Rivera (Anthony) of Springfield, MA, step-son, Alan Lambert (Kristie) of Gloucester, MA, step-daughter, Beth Lambert (Jay) of Chicopee, MA, brother, Raymond Andersons (Jeanne) of Charlton, NY, sisters, Biruta Platt (Alexander) of Alexandria, VA and Astrida Milgate (Robert) of Gloucester, MA, grandchildren, Diego, Jaylene, Andre and Paige, ex-wife, Dorothy Andersons, several nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the D’Amour Cancer Center in Springfield, MA especially Dr. Wilson Mertens, the nurses and caregivers at Baystate VNA & Hospice, the team at the Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston, MA and a special thank you to his caregiver, Evelyn. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 6:00-8:00PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill St., Springfield, MA. Funeral services will begin at 12:15PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC proceeding to the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery for burial with full military honors.
