Douglas S. Pamaylaon

Douglas S. Pamaylaon, 80, husband of the late Pamela (Plouffe) Pamaylaon, passed away at home on December 17, 2022.
He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 20, 1942, a son of Pedro and Adnomian (Sintos) Pamaylaon.
He raised his family in Holyoke, MA and for the past five years lived with his daughter Kim Sue Palatino and her husband Mark. He was retired from Daniel O’Connell & Sons Construction Company and loved oil painting, playing his ukulele and spending time with his family. Douglas served honorably in the United States Air force from 1962 until 1967. “Pineapple” was also a member of American Legion Post 325 in Holyoke, MA.
He is survived by his children: Kim Sue Palatino (Mark) of Springfield, MA, Aaron Pamaylaon (Christine) of Honolulu, HI, James Pamaylaon of Holyoke, MA, and Nadine Ferber (Timothy) of Honolulu, HI. He also leaves his siblings: Pedro (Susan) Pamaylaon and Darren Pamaylaon, both of HI, Charmaine (Joseph) Garcia of CA, Roxanne (Thomas) Borthwick of HI, Debra (Jonathan) Cadiz of CA and Maryanne (Sean) Ganal) of WA. He will be sadly missed by twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 5-7pm at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. The funeral service is Friday, December 30, 2022 beginning at 9AM. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
