Dorothy C. Palm

Dorothy “Dot” C. Palm, age 98, of Wilbraham, MA, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. She was born September 21, 1923, in Agawam, MA, to the late Francis and Bertha (Ross) Moon. A graduate of Classical High School, Dorothy continued her education at Bay Path College. On June 1, 1943, she married the love of her life, the late Walter “Babe” Palm. Together they celebrated 72 years of marriage and raised four children.
A devoted wife and mother, Dorothy also worked at Sixteen Acres Nursery School, in Springfield, MA, where she taught preschool for 53 years before retiring at the age of 92. She loved her job and lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures; attending countless craft fairs, bingo nights, playing the piano and organ, and most of all playing dice and cards with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter and 3 sons; Carol Casida of Wilbraham, Craig Palm of Springfield, Robin and his wife Martha Palm of Springfield, Donald Palm of San Antonio, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. Predeceased by 4 siblings: Ben Moon, Robert Moon, Eleanor Brehart and Elva Viggers.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on May 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 915 Plumtree Road, Springfield, MA.
