Agawam - Dorothy A. (Atmus) Mulvey, 103, peacefully passed away on July 27, 2023 at The Atrium, Agawam, MA. She was born in Springfield, MA on June 1, 1920, the daughter of the late Emil and Erna (Dietz) Atmus. Dorothy graduated from Classical High School in Springfield and went on to attend Stoneleigh Junior College in Rye, New Hampshire, majoring in fashion design. After a short stint in New York City, she returned home to work in the family business E. B. Atmus of Springfield, MA, retiring as the Vice President and office manager of the company. Dorothy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Springfield, MA and the Atalanta Club of Springfield. Dorothy savored her role at E. B. Atmus and enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and friends at picnics, especially at her “Thimble Farm” in Conway, MA. She will be missed by her canine friend, ”Yogi”. Dorothy’s family would like to send a special thank you to her care-givers who made her smile every morning. She is survived by her children: Jeff Mulvey of Springfield, MA and Susan Mulvey of Agawam, MA. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: Jeff Mulvey, Jr. and his wife Ann-Marie and Henry Mulvey. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon D. Mulvey, her son, Gordon Mulvey, Jr. and her brother Rudolph Atmus. Services for Dorothy will be scheduled at a later date.
