Donna M. Hobaica

February 18, 1958 — April 26, 2023

Donna Marie Hobaica [Savoir], 65, of Springfield, beloved wife of Edward F. Hobaica, passed away peacefully Wednesday April 26, 2023, with her family at her bedside at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Donna was born February 18, 1958, and was a lifelong Springfield resident. She was the daughter of the late Roland Savoir Sr. and the late Roberta Musiak [Fellion] [husband Bill]. Donna attended Ursline Academy and later went on to work as the assistant manager at SIS Bank, where she met her husband, Ed, of forty years. Shortly after meeting, they were married, began having children, and bought their lifelong home in East Forest Park. Donna was creative, hardworking, and savvy at business, so it was no surprise when she started her own cleaning company—The Cleaner Solution—and successfully ran it for over twenty-five years. When she wasn’t cleaning, she was fully immersed in raising her two children. She spent summers camping with her family in Cape Cod, and she adored going to Marconi Beach. She loved to cook and bake. She was an avid Bingo and Texas Hold ‘Em player in her healthier years. She hosted all the holidays and parties, she always bought way too many presents at Christmas time, and she created a home in which her children and all the neighborhood kids loved to congregate. She was “everyone’s mom” who left her door open—figuratively and literally—for anyone in need, and she spent her life spreading kindness and love wherever she went. She was charitable, patient, understanding, supportive, and humble.
Besides her husband, Ed, she leaves behind her two loving, adoring, and heart-broken children—Sarah Meinerz [husband Kevin] of Agawam, and Michael Hobaica of Springfield, as well as her three adored grandchildren—eleven-year-old twins, Aiden and Aubrey, and their caring father, Michael Lamontagne [wife Ashley] of Enfield, CT, and her newest joy, Liam [2]. She also leaves behind her loving and protective older brother, Roland Savoir Jr. [wife Tina] of Willington, CT. Lastly, she leaves behind her kind and giving brothers-in-law, Bruce Hobaica of Springfield, and Gary Hobaica [wife Pat] of Feeding Hills, and her seven nieces and nephews. Donna is predeceased by her stepfather, Erich Lerch, of Springfield, who came into her adolescent life, and ultimately was cared for by Donna until his last breath. This act always meant a lot to her. Of all the faces waiting to greet her behind Heaven’s Gate, may she first have seen her mother, and then on her heels, her beloved dog, and “her third child”, Griffin. As per Donna’s request, no immediate funeral or memorial service will be held, however, on Saturday, June 3, 2023, there will be a 5:00 pm Mass held at St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church located on 375 Island Pond Road in Springfield, MA followed immediately by a celebration of life dinner at the Elks Lodge located on 440 Tiffany Street in Springfield, MA.
