SPRINGFIELD-Donald R. Purcell, 68, died January 7, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Born on April 11, 1944 in Springfield, MA to the late Emmons E. and Lucile (St.Marie) Purcell, Donald proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Purcell was the owner of Purcell Associates, a wholesale automatic door closer distribution company. An avid golfer, who also enjoyed motorcycle riding and making stained glass, he was a past member of the Knights of Columbus #2212 in West Springfield, MA. Predeceased by his parents, he leaves his children, Steven Purcell of Red Oak, IA and Karen Purcell of Springfield, MA; brother, Edward Purcell of Ware, MA; sister, JoAnne Curtis of Ludlow, MA; grandchildren; great grandchildren and his former wives, Joan Quinn and Lois Charles. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill St., Springfield, MA with a visiting hour from 8:30-10:00AM.
