Deborah Ann (Hart) Benoit, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.
Debbie was born in Springfield, MA on July 21, 1950 to the late Edward Hart and the late Gloria (Osborne) Hart. Debbie graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield and attended Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH earning her master’s degree in education. During her 40-year career in education, Debbie was employed as a teacher, an assistant principal, and a principal in the Catholic and public school systems.
Beside her parents, Debbie was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, Daniel Benoit, Sr. and her mother-in-law, Huguette Benoit. Debbie is survived by her three children: her daughter Lori Mutti and her husband, Matthew, of East Longmeadow, her son Daniel Benoit, Jr. and his wife Jamie of Springfield, and her son James Benoit and his wife Jessica of Springfield. She also will be deeply missed by her sister Donna Racette and her husband Roger of East Longmeadow, her sister Maryanne Guimond and her husband Frank of East Longmeadow, her brother-in-law Michael Benoit of Sherman, TX; and her four grandchildren who affectionately called her Nana: Grace and Faith Mutti and Jameson and Jackson Benoit. Her memory will also live on in the hearts of her beloved niece, nephews, cousins and friends. Debbie touched so many lives with her genuine kindness and sincere thoughtfulness. She always considered others’ needs before her own, never expecting anything in return.
Friends and relatives are requested to gather on Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Michael’s Church, East Longmeadow, MA for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30AM. She and her husband will be laid to rest in August of 2022 in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
