David Maratea, 69, passed away on May 3rd, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Springfield MA, he was the son of Eva and Vito Maratea.
He graduated from Trade High School and was a die-hard Boston Sports fan and one hell of a bartender. He will be remembered for being quick with a joke, his contagious smile, being the subject of his own crazy stories and the subject of many other peoples’. “Everyone has a Dave Maratea story and they’re all true.”
He is survived by his son Joseph and his partner Madison, his sisters Julie, Dona and Lucy.
A gathering will be held at 10AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA processing to St. Michael’s Cemetery for a graveside service. www.nefcc.net
