WEST SPRINGFIELD – David A. Bovey, 62, died unexpectedly at home on July 19, 2015. Born September 21, 1952 to the late Allan and Avalee (Shipman) Bovey, he was a graduate of The Ohio State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He had retired as a senior financial systems analyst and developer at The Hartford. David was a golf enthusiast and avid sports fan. He loved Buckeye football, the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns as well as NASCAR. David also loved blue grass music and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Kathleen M. Fisher of West Springfield, stepchildren Andrew Hallopeter and Julie Bennett (Lew), grandchildren Delaney, Landen, Travis and Morgan, father and mother-in-law Newton and Etta Fisher, brothers-in-law Richard, Kenneth, and Jeffrey Fisher, sisters-in-law Brenda Conrad and Barbara Luecke and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of David’s life will be held July 24, 2015 beginning at 1:00 PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA with a service at 1:45 PM. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Funeral Center.
