Daniel J. Evans

February 20, 1957 — January 22, 2018

Hampden - Daniel J. Evans, 60, passed away peacefully at his home in Hampden with his family by his side on January 22nd.

He is the son of the late John J. Evans. Daniel grew up in East Longmeadow but moved to Monson in 1987 where he raised his family.

Dan was an incredibly talented musician, who played guitar as a member of local bands such as The Pencils and Courageous Cat. Dan was an all around great guy and entertainer, who had a knack for making people laugh. In addition to his musical talents, Dan was a fantastic chef and a tech whiz. He was the IT Director for the Town of South Hadley for 11 years. Before his time working with the Town of South Hadley, he worked at several companies including Milton Bradley, Westvaco, and Merrill Lynch.

Dan is survived by his children Michael T. Evans of Chicopee, Brooke Evans St. Pierre and his son in law Jeffery St. Pierre both of West Tisbury MA, his mother Betty J. Evans of Springfield, His siblings John T.  Evans of Springfield, Katherine and Donald Nardi of Hampden, Joan and Charles O’Keefe of Monson and Timothy and Joanne Evans of Hampden, and his best friend Kim Evans of Monson, along with many other extended family members, nieces, nephews, and great friends.

A celebration of Dan’s life will take place this coming spring.
