Dana W. Blood, Sr.

BELCHERTOWN-Dana W. Blood, Sr., 91, died January 17, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center. Born on August 22, 1921 in Southampton, NH he was the son of the late Welcome and Edith (Jennison) Blood, he retired from Tambrands as project manager and was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He was a US Army veteran of WW II serving in the South Pacific. His interests included motorcycles, travel, model railroading, fishing, dancing and was a square dance caller for over twenty years. He and his first wife, Rita, founded the Jumptown Twirlers, a square dance club in Orange, MA. Predeceased by his parents, his wife of 51 years, Rita (Dupell) Blood; his second wife, Louise (Wadsworth) Blood; son, Everett and son-in-law, Ralph Wilson, he leaves his children: Carole Ann Wilson and her son, Duane Wilson, his PCA with whom he lived; Dana W. Blood, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Bradenton, FL, Roger H. Blood (Sophia) of Feeding Hills, MA, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Belchertown, followed by a private graveside service with full military honors in Athol, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Foundation, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
