SPRINGFIELD-Charles F. Morris, 92, died peacefully at home on December 10. Mr. Morris was born in Holyoke, MA to the late Charles N. and Elizabeth (Melia) Morris. Predeceased by his wife, Iline Metzger, and two brothers, Andrew and Tom Morris, he is survived by his son, Charles Morris, of Springfield, daughter, Cheryl Logan, of Belchertown, brother, George Morris, of Harwich, MA and three grandchildren. A WW II veteran of the US Army, he proudly served in the 348th Ordnance Depot Company fighting on the shores of Normandy, Northern France and the Philippines. Mr. Morris also served his community by dedicating 29 years of his life to the City of Springfield as a firefighter. He worked in the historic Mill Street Station built in 1894. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC currently occupies this historic building, and the Morris family has entrusted the funeral services to New England.
